Carbon Saving Obligation – Energy Wizards

Carbon Saving Obligation

What Is the Carbon Saving Obligation?

The Carbon Saving Obligation is a scheme established by the UK Government; it is part of the wider Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme, and it was previously known as the Carbon Emissions Reduction Obligation (CERO). While it continued until October 2018, its legacy lives on in the most recent ECO4 scheme.

The ECO4 scheme, which is funded by energy companies, aims to help low-income and vulnerable households around the UK. It helps towards the cost of non-fuel measures in the home — like cavity wall insulation or solid wall insulation that can be harder and costlier to install.

The goal is twofold: lower household energy bills and cut carbon emissions. Energy providers are playing a part not only in reducing fuel poverty by insulating homes and creating energy-efficient heating systems, but also by supporting the UK’s drive towards a more sustainable future.

To ensure that the support is provided to those who need it most, many larger energy suppliers are participating in this scheme. Wondering if you qualify? Find out if you qualify today and take a step toward a warmer, more energy efficient home.

More Information About The Carbon Saving Community Obligation (CSCO)

A scheme implemented by the UK government as part of their ECO4 scheme, the Carbon Saving Community Obligation (CSCO) reduces carbon emissions across the country while supporting vulnerable households. It gives low-income families living in their own or privately rented homes the fundamental energy-efficiency upgrades. Via CSCO, free or subsidised improvements such as loft insulation are available to qualifying households,

  • cavity / solid wall insulation,
  • improvements in electric storage heaters,
  • room-in-roof insulation,
  • solar panels, and
  • air source heat pumps.

The satellite programme aims to support families facing financial hardship, including single parents, by improving home energy efficiency and reducing heating costs. It’s an important step, part of a wider UK Green Deal strategy—aimed at achieving a greener, more sustainable future for all sections of society, including the most vulnerable.

Read on for why you should apply:

  • Improve the energy efficiency of your home
